"In the last three years, we had only one error, and it was due to a GC expecting us to upload new drawings from Procore without notifications..."
Interviewer (JENGAI):
Joe, thanks for taking the time to chat with us today! Let’s dive right in.
Can you share the top three challenges your business faced before using JENGAI?
Joe Rizzo (Owner and CEO, Pro-United Inc):
Before implementing JENGAI, we faced several challenges:
- Training estimators to properly manage estimation data and ensuring data integrity when sharing it across project teams.
- Having access to estimators' workflow to verify company protocols for data entry are being adhered to.
- Creating and managing the workflow from takeoff to proposal creation.
Interviewer:
That’s interesting! And how long did it take for you to see noticeable improvements once you implemented JENGAI?
Joe:
Breaking old habits and onboarding a new system is always tough, but after a few months, we started seeing the immense time savings potential JENGAI’s project panel delivers. The interface is fluid and easy to use—most of the effort went into shedding the hesitancy of the team to learn a new method.
Interviewer:
What would you say has been the most significant transformation in your business since using JENGAI?
Joe:
Prior to JENGAI, time constraints often tipped the scale towards trusting estimators over verifying their work. With JENGAI, all the data is immediately at one's fingertips and, most importantly, presented so clearly and consistently that it makes quick and easy work of reviewing bids.
Interviewer:
That’s a game-changer. How measurable have the changes been? Any specific examples of improvements in revenue, time savings, or reduced errors?
Joe:
Estimation errors have been nearly eliminated. Estimators are required to save screenshots of each page of a project's take-off and ensure the project drawings and specifications are in the project folder. With that information and the JENGAI project panel, take-offs can be quickly and accurately verified.
In the last three years, we had only one error, and it was due to a GC expecting us to upload new drawings from Procore without notifications.
The time savings is immense, both in verifying bids and compiling bid presentations.
Interviewer:
What part of JENGAI has had the biggest impact on your business growth?
Joe:
Since our bid database is effortlessly organized and up to date, the biggest impact has been increased peace of mind, despite the immense reduction of time spent verifying accurate pricing.
Having 24/7 access to accurate, up-to-date bid information for review, addendum revisions, and proposal follow-ups has transformed our operations.
Interviewer:
If you had to describe JENGAI’s support in three words, what would they be?
Joe:
Knowledgeable, Passionate, Responsive.
Interviewer:
Finally, what advice would you give to other businesses considering JENGAI?
Joe:
Use it.
The amount of time it takes to learn how to navigate JENGAI's platform is inconsequential in relation to building an internal IT system that has even a small percentage of JENGAI's current capacity. The JENGAI platform has eliminated a majority of the headaches in managing estimation via a protocol that herds not only all the estimation data, but also the estimators. The protocol and flow paths embedded in the interface ensure consistently organized information and act as invisible guardrails for estimators.
